Part of the quarry series, this painting is titled with a phrase used by miners who brought rock, hard- won underground, to the surface. It is a profound experience to stand in a quarry seeing layers of stone 350 million years old being excavated and carried away in lorries for use elsewhere. Currently on display in the Acacia Eye Clinic, Pennine Business Park, Bradley, Huddersfield.
