I am currently carrying out research for a body of work inspired by working stone quarries. Walking the quarry floors dwarfed by layers of geological history surrounding me, heightened the sense of being part of something transforming. My intuitive painting process took me beyond the rock faces to consider our place on this planet. The deliberate and varied application of paint reveals tiny details of existence amongst the vastness of the whole. We are poised precariously within a dynamic system. Awakening is part of everyday, but we stumble half asleep continuing to squander.
